In X-Blaster, as a pilot, you climb into so-called mechs to compete against each other in a 3D arena. At the beginning you had the choice between three different types of mech: Ranger (German: Forester), Defender (German: Defender) or Hunter (German: Jäger). Each 'Mech differed from the other two in its weapons and special abilities. When you first logged in, the selected 'Mech was initially located in a hangar, the "headquarters". Here new weapons for the mech could be purchased and existing ones could be improved.
